This 12 week subscription course will provide you with the necessary fundamentals common to all TRICOM courses.
It is specifically designed as the fundamental training material for police officers and special forces soldiers. While at the same time you will be shown how the same material can be applied to civilians in self-defense scenarios.
Edged Weapons Countermeasures

Edged weapons assaults are a constant threat for law enforcement and civilians. Knife attacks are common and statistically more lethal than firearms. This course offers pragmatic, real-world, self-defense solutions for knife attacks. It is a training module that builds on critical combat attributes and foundations before transitioning into progressive drills and pressure testing guidelines.
It is an ideal training companion for law enforcement and security professionals, martial artists, and responsibly armed civilians looking to improve their odds at surviving a deadly force encounter with a knife.
Weapon Retention

This weapon retention course features a progressive training system that builds your skills from the ground up.
You will begin with simple drills that build your foundation in all ranges of the fight from striking, clinch, and groundwork.
These elements will stack onto one another in a simple, easy-to-understand way until you reach proficiency and efficiency through guided repetition and drilling.
You will learn how to conceal, retain, and deploy your weapon of choice against aggressive and violent attacks from a 360-degree perspective while standing, clinching, or ground fighting.
Expandable Baton

This course covers fundamental and advanced tactics of impact weapon application, developed over the past 16 years by the instructor for this course, Jared Wihongi. In addition to his international reputation as a Close Quarters Combat (CQC) Instructor, Jared is a student of multiple martial arts and combatives systems. He specializes in the impact weapon based combat arts of the Philippines. He has two decades of experience in law enforcement (both full-time and Reserve), most of which has been working on SWAT Teams and as a Use-of-Force Instructor.
Duty Knife as a Backup Weapon
Learn online | check schedule for in-person training | contact us to host a course
Most Law Enforcement officers and armed security professionals carry at least one knife on their person when on duty. This is often true for Concealed Firearms Permit holders also. In addition to the variety of utility functions a knife can perform, many carry a knife with intent to use it as a last-ditch survival weapon or weapon retention tool. Unlike other weapons armed professionals and responsible citizens carry, most do not train in techniques and procedures for how to carry, deploy and in the defensive use of a knife.
Tactical Clinch
Learn online | check schedule for in-person training | contact us to host a course
This course addresses extreme close-quarter situations where you and a subject have a hold of one another in a physical struggle for control, positions that are commonly referred to as "clinch" positions in the martial arts. We will be addressing the problems involved with common "clinch" techniques taught in martial arts systems, and how to modify the techniques to make them appropriate to real-world, weapon-based environments for law enforcement, military, security personnel or concealed firearms permit holders.
Ground S.E.R.E.
Learn online | check schedule for in-person training | contact us to host a course
The goal of this course is to educate participants on the dangers - and potential benefits - of being on the ground in a self-defense scenario. Ground S.E.R.E. focuses on the four primary priorities of ground survival: Survival | Evasion | Resistance | Escape. Within a limited time frame, these are the areas that become the priority in training and in tactics.. Most particularly for individuals who have little to no previous experience in grappling disciplines such as wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We address a hierarchy of tactics from common positions focused on real-world violent encounters, where variables such as weapons and multiple attackers may be present, rather than from a sport based point-of-view.
Close-Quarters: Firearms Integration Tactics
Learn online | check schedule for in-person training | contact us to host a course
Statistically, around 70% of defensive shootings happen between arms-reach and 10ft. The Close-Quarters Firearms Integration Tactics program (CQ-FIT) focuses on surviving lethal force encounters within these extremely close ranges, to include firearms and edged-weapon based assaults. To increase the probability of survival at these ranges, we train a full integration of empty-hand fighting, firearms, edged and impact weaponry.
Karambit Combatives
Learn online | check schedule for in-person training | contact us to host a course
When it comes to blade-based self-defense, not enough can be said about the importance of simplicity. That's why many prefer the Karambit-style knife. The curvature of the karambit blade, often replicating the claws and talons of predators of the animal kingdom, lends to the natural movements of the arms and the hands. This can make even a novice dangerous when wielding it. Although the Karambit can be used to great effect naturally, with the help of a solid training program this can become one of the most effective self-defense tools available.
EDC Knife Combatives

In many parts of the world, blades of various designs are carried by people who use them for their function as work tools. With increasing frequency, many people who do not use blades for work are carrying knives as EDC tools (Every Day Carry.) In addition to their utility functions, many people carry knives with the intent to use them as defensive weapons, or back-up weapons for those who work with firearms or are licensed to carry firearms.
Natural Impact Weapons
Learn online | check schedule for in-person training | contact us to host a course
Impact weapons (i.e. batons) are a long accepted tool utilized by law enforcement to assist in self-defense and in generating compliance. In the Natural Impact Weapons module, we explore how to use the body’s natural weapons to accomplish the same goals, and within the same general legal guidelines. While tools can and should be used to assist as force-multipliers in self-defense, oftentimes we are in situations where weapons are unavailable, illegal or impractical. In such situations, the efficient use of our hands, feet, elbows and knees may be all we have, and can create opportunities to disengage or for control-holds and takedowns when necessary.
Short Impact Weapons
Learn online | check schedule for in-person training | contact us to host a course
Almost every law enforcement officer, security professional and law-abiding citizen carries something on their person that can be used as a short impact weapon. Whether it's a weapon of purpose such as a tactical flashlight or tactical baton in closed-mode, or a weapon of opportunity such as a pen or a fork, learning to recognize and utilize such implements can be force-multipliers that greatly increase your chances of triumphing in a self-defense encounter.
Gross Motor Control Dynamics
Learn online | check schedule for in-person training | contact us to host a course
Under the stress of a combative self-defense encounter, the human body often experiences what are known as physiological stress symptoms. These include the loss of fine-motor skill and the ability to perform complex motions. With a focus on gross-motor techniques and large joint manipulation, this course trains each participant in recognizing simple index points for gross-motor control, then utilizing those points to perform a handful of takedowns to control (and cuffing when applicable.) With a focus on a couple of “go-to” techniques that are relatively simple yet effective, we train certain contingency techniques that address the most common type of resistance and how to use that resistance to flow into other techniques.
Sole Operator Survivor (S.O.S)
Learn online | check schedule for in-person training | contact us to host a course
This course was developed as a pre-deployment program for military Covert Operations personnel preparing to work in hostile environments. The focus of this program is to train participants in last ditch survival tactics appropriate for non-permissive environments (i.e. areas where weapons are prohibited.) This includes counter-terrorism, counter-kidnapping and counter-violent crime and counter-custody. While developed for the military, this course is directly relevant to businessmen and executives who travel to higher risk areas of the world.
